i love the turn of phrase "the first of many lasts". In some way, I've been excited for them since I still have a kid in elementary school (i started late!) I'm cheering for no more 5th grade but I can already tell I won't be cheering for "last" senior year in high-school.
My second is also a high school senior and I'm feeling the emotions too. Next spring break my son and I have a trip to Mexico planned with a group of his senior friends and their moms. I'm grateful someone thought of this. I'm looking forward to sharing the moment with other moms and doing something fun too.
I always feel better after reading your newsletter. Thank you :)
Lovely Jenna, my boy is starting his final year of Primary school so I am having some of those feelings too although I know finishing secondary school is a bigger thing - with all that is yet to come in terms of college/after school. I've always liked September, it is that kind of "in between" month but there is often beautiful light and I always have a feeling of a fresh start - more so even than January for the New Year. Enjoying the vlogs too - what a spectacular trip, something to cherish.
The end of summer, and the first of many lasts
This is breathtaking. The beauty brings tears to my eyes.
