“And then I remind myself that few are spared from sadness and suffering. It’s just not my turn right now, but it will come around again. It always does. “ So sad but true. The reality of just being here, alive.

Life is hard and complicated. And then it's full of joy. Things feel so heavy. Hold your son close, Marc. We are the lucky ones if we are able to do that right now.

Jenna, I always appreciate you sharing your thoughts, concern and empathy for others. We started watching the Korean Culinary Class War on Netflix after your recommendation and we are so hooked! The format is ingenious, so refreshing, and genuine. Thanks again for the rec!

I just joined this bc of your post. I’m an artist myself and always was hesitant to make that big jump, especially as a main breadwinner. So it was refreshing to see this, your progress and struggles. It’s hard to bare your soul

Yes, it's tough as a main breadwinner. I haven't figured it out yet! But welcome! There's some great art and writing on Substack.

Jenna, The Honey Locust has thorns on the trunk. Big thorns, some up to 8 inches long! I have several of them on my property. They're frightful!!

Your tree could be some kind of locust but I don't know for sure. I wish I could be more help.

Hi Bev, I looked it up because this tree (there are three in front of our building) doesn't have spikes, but I see that there is a thornless variety. I think it might be a honey locust because it produces these large long sea pods that I've seen in photos.

Indeed, where have September went? And since I am late in reading this, I can almost say the same for October. It is hard to live in current times, where we can get an instant update from across the world thanks to technology, but we still couldn't do anything about it like before.

October literally flew by. Before we know it, it’ll be the end of the year 😮
