Have a wonderful trip. I remember when my Dad would go back to India when I was a kid (in the 80s) -- he’d pack the weirdest things, including at least 6 American brassieres for my aunt (“they’re softer” she said). Side note: I’m on a trip with MY mom right now, too!
That is funny. My dad would always bring back Korean underwear that his sisters would buy for him to pack. Hope you're having a great trip with your mom :)
Safe Travels! I will be looking forward for your updates on IG. I don't envy you that flight, I've been to Japan 5 times, it just feels like it will never end, and then it does!
Have a good trip! I just came back to the US from a 2.5 week trip to Seoul (and Osaka) and I had tons of fun. My mom also took Tylenol and Melatonin to give out to the older family members and Trader Joe's seasoning to the younger family members. Also eating out is so affordable (compared to LA and definitely NY) that now that I'm back home, I'm having a hard time justifying eating out, resulting in cooking at home more which is good but seriously missing those really delicious and cheap food. I"m sure you're well prepared but Naver maps, Papago and wifi egg really helped out during my trip. Can't wait to read up on your travels.
So I guess Tylenol is a thing! Yes I’m aware about the cheap eating out prices! It seems like it’s cheaper than cooking there. Especially with inflation in restaurant prices here - and I get they need to make money - it is hard to go out. Might just really have to learn how to cook Korean at home.
I'm a new subscriber and am very much looking forward to your future newsletters! I grew up going back and forth between the US and Taiwan and wonder all the time what my relationship to Taiwan will be as an adult.
Also, don't knock the check-in luggage filled with miscellaneous gifts! As long as they're all given away, you now have an empty suitcase to fill with all the fun things you buy while you're there :)
I've not traveled back to China since 2018. The next time I go, I'd have to pack up all the extra gifts (mostly Costco MoveFrees and other supplements)I have owed my families over the past five years in my luggage lol
Ha, yes probably! The kids want specific makeup :)
Thank you! I am scared of the flight! haha! But the payoff will be worth it.
